Won’t “...how things shake out” depend on who reports it? Or which “well” one chooses to drink from?
It will only depend on which ones stay in business. Now, yeah, the NYT may stay in business by telling its readers only what they want to hear - but there will be enough disparate voices to point out the inconsistencies in their "reporting."
