I wish I shared your optimism about the inevitability of journalism's decline. I fear a lot worse will proceed any better. I'd be delighted to be wrong.
As the old saw, believe nothing of what you hear and only half of whet you read. Unfortunately the media, in their attempt to sell papers/advertising and/or win a Pulitzer Prize has removed the difference between the two.
Taibbi and Greenwald are also doing well.

I think new outlets will arise to replace those more interested in preaching to the choir. In the meantime, the WSJ is better than most.
