The 1st of the New Year saw both Living Blues magazine and San Diego Troubadour hit the streets with the latest editions, and I was blessed to have articles in both.
For Living Blues, I wrote the cover piece on Arthur Adams — a longtime R&B and blues songwriter, singer and guitarist. We got to talk about his entire life, from growing up in small-town Tennessee to playing in studio bands conducted by Quincy Jones. (It is a for-pay site to read the article.)
In Troubadour, I had two interviews and an album review.
Local trumpeter Elizabeth Meeker Howard has carved out a respect spot in the local classical scene, and is now branching out into Latin and jazz.
Singer-songwriter Natt Wise also has his own barber shop — where he hosts live shows. It’s a fun combination.
Finally, we took a spin of saxophonist Ed Croft’s new album, “Have Mersey” — a fun, often glorious set of covers of British Invasion songs, both hits and hidden gems.
Enjoy!
